Compare the Chevy Trailblazer with the Mazda CX-30
It's decision time at Schumacher Chevrolet, and one of our most popular SUVs is flying off our lots. The new Chevy Trailblazer brings an all-encompassing design, modern technology, and convenience at a more attainable price than the Mazda CX-30. While we think the Mazda CX-30 is a decent runner-up, we'll show you how the two compare so you can make the final decision yourself. Happy shopping with Schumacher Chevrolet in New Jersey.
Exterior Design
Chevy Trailblazer

The new Chevy Trailblazer doubles down on style and exterior attraction-and we mean that literally. The available dual-tone roof/body color combinations blend perfectly with options like Mosiac Black Metallic/Summit White, Sterling Gray Metallic/Summit White, and more. However, if those two-tone color combos aren't for you, then the standard LED lights, sweeping body lines, fender flares, and rich grille will surely turn heads. The Trailblazer RS unlocks a high-gloss Black mesh grille, RS badging, and 19-inch high-gloss Black machined aluminum wheels.
Mazda CX-30

In terms of exterior styling, the Mazda CX-30 doesn't offer as much as the Trailblazer does. The minimalist design is highlighted by the angular front hood, slim horizontal LED headlights, and daytime running lights. Upgrading to a higher trim will unlock the Black accented grille, durable black roof rails, and 18-inch wheels. The Mazda CX-30 keeps it simple-the only question left to ask is whether that is enough style for you?
Interior Design and Technology
Chevy Trailblazer

The Trailblazer has room for five with an expansive cargo area that creates up to 8.5 feet for longer items. Entry-level models kick off your comfort with firm and supportive cloth upholstery and heated front seats. However, upgrading to a higher trim will supplant those seats with EvoTex upholstery for a more luxurious appeal. You'll also enjoy the picturesque 11-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ and an 8-inch, full-color digital gauge cluster-no upgrades needed.
Mazda CX-30

The Mazda CX-30 does offer comprehensive comfort and technology features for its lineup-however, you'll have to determine if paying a lot more for the features will be worth it. The CX-30 has a five-seat cabin setup with cloth-trimmed sport seats for entry-level models. However, you'll have to add a few thousand dollars if you want to snag the available leatherette or Terracotta leather-trimmed sport seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and heated front seats. Entry-level models feature an 8.8-inch infotainment screen while upgrading to a 10.25-inch screen calls for a higher trim.
Fuel Economy and Performance
Chevy Trailblazer

The Chevy Trailblazer focuses on maximizing your fuel economy-that's why it offers a standalone 1.3-liter turbo engine with an EPA-estimated 29/33 MPG city/highway. For more control during those nasty winters in New Jersey, all trims can be equipped with all-wheel drive (AWD) in place of the standard front-wheel drive (FWD). Your capability increases with ACTIV trim-which includes off-road suspension tuning, a functional skid plate, and three drive modes to adapt to your surroundings in Montville.
Mazda CX-30

The Mazda CX-30 provides one of two engines for its powertrain. The most fuel-efficient version belongs to the SKYACTIV®-G 2.5 DOHC 4-cylinder engine with an EPA-estimated 26/33 MPG city/highway. This engine is reserved for the lower trim levels. However, the turbo output version of the SKYACTIV®-G 2.5 DOHC 4-cylinder delivers 250 horsepower. However, it will drop your fuel economy to an EPA-estimated 22/30 MPG city/highway. In a world of crossover SUVs, all you need is merging power-and the Trailblazer has more than enough without dropping your fuel economy.
Safety Features
Chevy Trailblazer

Chevy Safety Assist is your Trailblazer's standard driver's assistance features. You'll enjoy more road awareness with:
- Forward collision alert and automatic emergency braking
- Front pedestrian braking
- Lane keep assist with lane departure warning
- Follow distance indicator
- IntelliBeam®
Mazda CX-30

The Mazda CX-30 also does its part to deliver road awareness with a good set of standard driver's assistance features:
- Lane keep assistance
- Rear view monitor
- Lane departure warning
- High beam control
- Rear cross traffic alert
